Watercolor on 140lb Arches – painted in my Studio from a photo of Plein Air Artist/Teacher Annette Paquet painting at Torrey Pines in San Diego. Torrey Pines is her Sacred Place of Inspiration. It is filled with Divine colors, sounds, values, variety and feelings. An Artists Dream Come True.
A layer of gesso was painted over the sky to remove the busy-ness of my first wash. Watercolor over the gesso gave an unusual feeling to it and presented a contrast to the rest of the painting. La Jolla is seen in the background.
Making art, for me, is a constant state of experimentation. There are NO RULES. None. Each creation is my own and I feel free to do as I wish, breaking rules, daring to push everything and be “in the moment.”
